Achieve. Lead. Vote!

Susquehanna is working harder than ever to encourage student participation in democracy.  In 2020, a diverse working group of university faculty and staff was assembled to brainstorm new ways to engage students in voting and elections. From that collaboration, we have created this hub of information with the aim of providing a central location for resources and answers to frequently asked questions surrounding voting and election processes. 

2024 Primary Election Important Dates

April 8: Last day to register to vote in the primary election

April 16: Last day to apply for a mail ballot.

April 23: Election Day — Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

April 23: Completed mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m.

Register To Vote

Students living on campus may choose to register to vote from their campus mailing address or from their other permanent residence. Susquehanna University is located in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. The Snyder County Elections website lists local polling places and local election office contact information.

Voter registration can be submitted online, by mail, or at a number of government agencies, including PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Photo License and Driver’s License Centers. Here are other helpful resources provided by the PA Department of State:

In-Person Polling Sites

Students who need transportation to the polling sites in Selinsgrove Borough on Election Day may email VPSL@basilinfracon.com with the time you plan to vote and your polling location (see options below).

  • Sharon Lutheran Church, 120 S. Market St. 
  • All Saints Episcopal Church,129 N. Market St. 

Mail-In Voting

If an election date conflicts with a student’s class schedule or a student is unable to get to a polling precinct, students can register for a mail-in ballot TODAY. Students living on campus may choose to register to vote from their campus mailing address or from their other permanent residence. 

If using campus mailing address, including your personal Hawk Number, to receive your mail-in ballot in campus mail.

About Achieve. Lead. Vote!

One step towards civic participation and being engaged within your community is by casting your vote in Selinsgrove. The university has begun to make pointed efforts to increase the rate of Susquehanna students who are registered to vote and the amount of students who turn up to the polls on election day. This is a diverse working group of faculty and staff tasked with empowering and encouraging students to register and vote.

The Achieve. Lead. Vote! slogan was coined by one of our students, and expands upon our campus mission/values of Achieve, Lead & Serve .
